Vetus Engine

There's nothing basically wrong with Vetus engines, the most popular engines  M4.12 & M4.17 are based on Mitsbishi engines and are very reliable.
One of the week areas on the early engines have electrics that can be a bit suspect but easily fixed particularly the starter solenoid relay. 


On the whole a solid package, but frequently I have found slight leak's from the Technodrive gearbox.​
  1. Recently Vetus engines have developed a fault where the engine will not turn off, or that the engine is completely dead.
  2. To resolve this, locate the wiring loom running across the top of the engine and identify a ‘bulge’. Peel back the rubber covering and you will find a block connector, just pull the connection block apart and then put it back together.
  3. ​This should rectify the situation. It’s easy when you know what to look for, so spend time scrutinising your engine before a failure occurs.

Electric Stop Solenoid issues.
