Welcome to the "Canal Life" web site, that's all about living, working and playing on our inland waterways.
Due to Covid 19, I am now having to self isolate.
Along with localised lockdowns, I am now unable to undertake callouts of servicing for the remainder of this month.

This website is for all you boat owners, and would be boat owners who want to "live the life" and don't mind getting your hands a little bit dirty.
For the last forty years I have lived this life, as both a qualified marine engineer/Electrician and boater and have met some fantastic people on my travels. Over the years I have come to realise that boaters are a breed of their own, the people I have met cruising the waterways do it because its the life they have chosen and love. And for me living on my Narrowboat it is my way of life, and a life that I couldn't be happier with. |
So I thought it was about time I shared my thoughts, knowledge, skills and tips that I have learnt over the years, and share them with you.
For more about me and the free sessions I run go to the About me page. If you have any question or need some advice, just drop me a line at my email or why not use the contact form. |
For those of you who need a bit more than a bit of advice, I offer a complete mobile Towpath engineer services at competitive prices.

Life Afloat
This section is mainly aimed at the newbies to boating, and it covers everything you need to cruise safely on our canals and rivers.
But for the more experienced boaters it will provide the latest in new tech, regulations and bylaws, so its still worth checking it out. |
Hands On DIY
This section is about getting down and dirty, and provides all the information for you to carry out that essential maintenance, servicing and repairs.
Even if you don't want to undertake the repairs yourself, it's still worth spending time and read up about service & repairs, that way you won't get ripped off! |
